Member Saleyards

Saleyards Australia is the peak national body for the saleyard and lairage industry, representing and promoting the interests of saleyard and lairage owners and operators. As the trusted industry voice at all levels of government and within stakeholder engagement, we advocate on behalf of our members across NSW, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia.

Our members provide essential livestock exchanges for around 1,200 stock and station agents and tens of thousands of producers, driving transactions that exceed $5 billion annually. With a strong foundation in local government entities and private operators, both large and small, Saleyards Australia represents the core of the industry.

Founded in 2024, Saleyards Australia emerged from the historic union of the Australian Livestock Markets Association and the Australian Livestock Saleyards Association, bringing both organisations together under one unified banner for the very first time.

With broad industry support, Saleyards Australia proactively addresses critical issues impacting the industry’s viability. Recognised as the national voice for this sector, Saleyards Australia continues to speak with authority on behalf of the industry to government and stakeholders alike.
